The numbers in parentheses at the end of each description indicates the number of dives required to meet course requirements. This diving activity can be enjoyed anywhere; learning techniques to improve the quality of your photographs will make your experience even more fun. (2) (Videography courses also available) Underwater Naturalist - Expand your knowledge and familiarity with sea creatures, large and small. Understand more about the animals and plants you see while diving, and learn how the underwater environment dictates form and behavior. Most importantly, learn how to be a responsible visitor in the aquatic world. (2) Peak Performance Buoyancy - Improving buoyancy control is one of the first steps to furthering your enjoyment of the underwater world. Mastering your buoyancy allows you to move effortlessly, and experience diving with greater control and efficiency. (2) Underwater Navigator - With a greater practical knowledge of navigation, you can plan, organize, and make dives using a compass and natural navigation techniques. Knowing how to navigate will reduce anxiety and disorientation, help you avoid long surface swims, and avoid buddy separation. You'll also conserve air by being more relaxed and effective in your dive planning. (3) Deep Diver - Gives you new access to dive sites that lie below 60 feet, allowing you to visit wrecks that lie in deeper water, observe aquatic life that isn't found at shallower depths, and collect or recover objects lost at greater depths. (4) Night Diver - Allows you an opportunity to observe nocturnal animals, satisfy your natural curiosity, and take a new look at old sites. Diving at night with a light allows you to see more vibrant true colors than during the day. Best of all, night diving offers you more chances to dive! (3) Multi-level Diver - Multi-level diving, through use of The Wheel or a dive computer, gives you longer no-decompression dive times, by crediting for slower nitrogen absorption when ascending to shallower depths. In a nutshell-you get more bottom time! (2) Boat Diver - Diving from a boat gives you access to dive sites that lie to far from shore to swim. It's generally easier to dive from a boat than from shore, because you can avoid surf, mud, and long hikes. This helps reduce wear on your equipment, and you! (2) Wreck Diver - A sunken ship can quickly become an artificial reef teeming with life. Explore a piece of history, and imagine where it came from and where it had been. Wrecks provide a dramatic backdrop for the photographer, and a home to a variety of marine creatures. (4) Enriched Air - Extend your bottom time with Enriched Air. Commonly referred to as "Nitrox", enriched air increases your time underwater by increasing the amount of oxygen in the air that your are breathing. (2 + 1 academic) Drysuit Diver - Drysuits enable us to expand our diving opportunities by extending the diving season in cooler months, and allowing us to visit places too chilly for a wetsuit. Drysuits also offer comfort and convenience in warmer temperatures as well. To use your drysuit properly, there are special techniques to learn, that aren't used with other types of exposure suits. (2+1 pool session) Search and Recovery - Learn techniques used to find lost items in even the most limited visibility. You'll learn the search patterns and techniques used to find items, and how to use the specialized equipment required to bring them to the surface.
